Scoot is scheduled to receive two more Embraer E190-E2s starting in September
Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has scheduled the delivery of two more Embraer E190-E2 jets for September and October.
The airline currently has two of these aircraft in service since May, complementing its A320neo and 787 Dreamliner.
According to Scoot, the third E190-E2 will arrive in September and will be named “Jalan-Jalan,” while the fourth aircraft, named “Travel Kaki,” will be added in October.
All of Scoot’s E2 aircraft are leased from Azorra under a contract that provides for the delivery of nine jets in total.
With the new E190-E2s, Scoot will fly to Kertajati, Indonesia, starting September 28, with two weekly flights.
On October 23, the flight between Singapore and Malacca, Malaysia, which is approximately 220 km away, will begin.
In addition, the airline will also expand frequencies to Balikpapan, Makassar and Davao by replacing the A320s with the E190-E2.
“Since the launch of our E190-E2 aircraft in May, we continue to see strong demand for our flights, which have connected many of our customers to and from our various destinations across Southeast Asia,” said Leslie Thng, Scoot’s Chief Executive Officer.
