Air TransportSwiss unveiled its first Airbus A350-900 on Tuesday, featuring the special “Wanderlust” livery, a collection of symbols and cultural references applied to its fuselage and flight surfaces.
According to the Swiss airline, the A350 is also its first long-range aircraft to debut with a cabin that is new to its history.
“For the first time in our history, a brand-new aircraft and an entirely new cabin concept come together – representing a leap forward in quality, comfort and innovation,” said Jens Fehlinger, CEO of Swiss.

The widebody aircraft features 360 precision-cut film elements that were applied by hand and covers an area of 380 m².
Among the symbols present are the marmot, Helvetia, which symbolizes Switzerland, and singer Freddie Mercury, from the band Queen, who passed away in 1991.
Also according to Swiss, the interior of the A350 will have a cabin with more privacy, more personal space and more choice for passengers.

Swiss expects the first A350-900 by the end of September. The HB-IFA aircraft will now undergo flight tests until it is approved for delivery.
It is part of an order for five jets announced in 2022. The carrier, however, expanded the order by five more A350s at the end of last year.
The new fleet is expected to be complete by 2031, when it will replace the aging A330s and A340s currently in service.
