Air TransportTAAG Angola Airlines received its third Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the first of the 787-10 version for the carrier, at Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport on November 11.
The aircraft arrived with a commemorative seal for the 50th Anniversary of Angola’s Independence, coinciding with National Celebration Day, and marks a significant advancement in the modernization of the fleet.
The Boeing 787-10 is the highest capacity variant of the Dreamliner family, but TAAG has not disclosed its configuration.
The jet with registration D2-TES was manufactured in 2020 and was originally set to be delivered to Vietnam Airlines. It belongs to Air Lease Company, which transferred it to the state airline of Angola.

A second 787-10 (D2-TET) is also in preparations to be sent to Africa. The aircraft performed a test flight between Everett and Victorville, USA, on November 7.
This jet had previously been used by Boeing as the “ecoDemonstrator Explorer” years ago. Both are equipped with GE GEnX engines.
