TAAG unveils new paint scheme for its aircraft
TAAG Linhas Aéreas revealed the new livery of its aircraft, which refers to a color pattern inspired by the traditional Angolan cloth called ‘samakaka’.
Angola’s flag carrier will abandon the somewhat dated paint scheme of two red and orange stripes for a fuselage with a white background and the company name in bold letters.
On the tail there will be a variation of the giant Palanca Negra design, the country’s symbol animal.
The first aircraft to display the new livery will be the Airbus A220-300, which is scheduled for delivery this quarter and will be configured with 137 seats (12 in business class and 125 in economy).
The jet has already been spotted with the new colors at the factory and should fly for the first time soon.
TAAG will also apply the new visual identity to its Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
The state-owned TAAG was founded in 1940 and currently has a fleet of 23 aircraft, nine Boeing 737s, eight 777s and Dash 8 turboprops.
The airline’s routes include countries in central and southern Africa as well as long-haul flights to São Paulo (Brazil) and Lisbon, Portugal, nations that share the same local language.
