Panamanian carrier's route will be operated with the Boeing 737 MAX 9 starting in June

Aircraft will stop serving destinations in the country as of 8:00 p.m. on July 31 due to a ban announced by the Venezuelan government, Panama and the Dominican Republic questioning the transparency of the presidential elections

Until then, the Panamanian carrier only had the MAX series 737-9 model in its fleet. Another six jets of the type will be received soon

Only a quarter of the world's fleet was active, most of which were Copa Airlines jets

Aircraft has 166 to 172 seats in two classes and will replace the 737-800 currently operating on the route
