The announcement is expected to take place on Thursday, according to The Wall Street Journal, and will reduce the importance of Everett, the manufacturer's largest assembly line

Flaw was initially pointed out in eight units produced in 2019, but FAA and Boeing are evaluating whether the problem could involve more than a hundred planes

The aircraft is now produced in Everett and also at its new plant in the state of South Carolina where employees are not union members
