The 777X and 737 MAX leave, F-15QA takes over as Boeing's highlight in Farnborough
Boeing had already announced that it would not take the 777-9 and 737 MAX jetliners to the Farnborough Airshow 2024, which takes place from July 22 to 26 in southern England.
On Monday, the company confirmed that the two commercial aircraft will not participate in the event due to delays in certification with the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).
The biggest stars of the commercial jet line, the two planes were at Farnborough in 2022 and also at Le Bourget last year.
If it will not contribute to aerial demonstrations during the air show with its civilian wing, Boeing will at least present the F-15QA fighter, an export variant of the advanced F-15EX variant.
The fighter will also participate in the Royal International Air Tatoo, the largest gathering of military aircraft in the world, which takes place at Fairford Air Base.
This does not mean that there will be few aircraft from the US company. Qatar Airways will once again have a 787-9 Dreamliner on static display and the United States Department of Defense will have its own space with several of its most modern aircraft.
Among the confirmed presences are a USAF F-15E, a US Army AH-64E Apache helicopter, a CH-47F Chinook and a US Navy P-8A Poseidon.
Boeing also noted that visitors will be able to see a mock-up of the 777X cabin and also appreciate the Generation 6, Wisk Aero’s first VTOL air taxi.
Despite the absence of commercial demonstration aircraft, Boeing is expected to make several order announcements for its jets.
