Air TransportEmbraer has finally completed the conversion of the second E190F aircraft, a freighter capable of carrying approximately 13 tons of payload.
The aircraft with registration N988TA, belonging to Regional One, from the US, and which will be handed over to Bridges Air Cargo, a freight company that is the launch customer for the variant.
The E190 had been at Embraer’s facilities in São José dos Campos for more than two years to receive the side door and have its interior reconfigured for cargo instead of carrying passengers.
On October 20, the aircraft took off from São José and headed to Confins Airport also in Brazil. There it was spotted by the website BrasilAviation still with part of the painting from TACA International Airlines.

According to the site, the second E190F is receiving the Bridges Air painting at GOL Linhas Aereas’ facilities and will subsequently receive the registration 9H-BRC.
Bridges Air Cargo received the world’s first converted E190F for cargo in August after a long development period.
When it launched the P2F program, Embraer hoped to take advantage of the e-commerce wave to convert several E190 and E195 for cargo, but the market changed and the demand for passenger aircraft heated up again, making the process less attractive.
