Air TransportLOT Polish Airlines has taken delivery of three new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft that arrived at Warsaw Chopin Airport on January 22. The jets departed Boeing Field in Seattle on January 21, stopped in Keflavik, Iceland, and completed the final leg to Poland later the same day.
The delivery drew attention after LOT released images showing the three aircraft flying together during the crossing, including while over Greenland. The aircraft, registered SP-LYB, SP-LYD and SP-LYE, were ferried in close formation for part of the flight, an uncommon sight for commercial aircraft deliveries and one deliberately highlighted by the airline.
With the arrival of these three aircraft, LOT now operates 23 Boeing 737 MAX 8s in its fleet. The type forms the backbone of the carrier’s short- and medium-haul operations, primarily serving European routes from its Warsaw hub.

The delivery occurred days after LOT unveiled a new cabin interior for its Boeing 737 MAX fleet. The redesigned interior, revealed in early January, draws inspiration from Polish landscapes and uses a color palette based on deep blues and warm amber tones.
The concept extends the visual language already present in the airline’s business lounges and is being introduced progressively across newly delivered aircraft.
The new cabin was designed by UK-based agency Tangerine, with seats manufactured in Poland by Recaro. The first aircraft featuring the updated interior entered service earlier in January, shortly before the arrival of the three newly delivered jets.
