Two Alpha Jets of the Patrouille de France collided in mid-air on Tuesday while conducting a training flight in Saint Dizier, northern France
A video shows six jets flying in formation very close together when two of them briefly touched and lost control. The crew managed to eject before the aircraft hit the ground.
According to preliminary information, there were two people on board one of the planes and the pilot in the second. One of the jets crashed into a silo, which caught fire.

The Patrouille de France is the aerobatics squadron of the French Air Force and was based at Air Base 113, where two Dassault Rafale fighters also collided in mid-air last year.
The Alpha Jet is a twin-engine jet aircraft for advanced training that was developed by Dassault in partnership with the German company Dornier, which closed in 2002.
The trainer had 480 aircraft produced between 1973 and 1991 and a good number of them are still in service in countries such as France, Morocco and Canada.
