DefenseThe US Air Force (USAF) received its 100th KC-46A Pegasus tanker from Boeing on December 2, with the aircraft delivered to Travis Air Force Base, California.
Air Mobility Command confirmed the delivery of both the 99th and 100th KC-46A aircraft. General Johnny Lamontagne, AMC commander, piloted the aircraft from Boeing’s Everett, Washington delivery center to Travis AFB.
“Today marks not just the arrival of the 100th KC-46 delivered, but the continued strengthening of our nation’s global reach and readiness. The Pegasus represents a key chapter in air mobility, one built on innovation and unwavering commitment to the mission,” said Lamontagne.

In November, Boeing secured a $2.4 billion contract for the twelfth production lot of the KC-46A, covering 15 additional 767-based tankers. Boeing now holds contracts for 183 KC-46A aircraft globally, including orders from Israel and Japan.
The USAF approved a revised acquisition strategy in July, raising the potential fleet size to 263 KC-46As. The air force received its first frontline KC-46A in 2019, and the aircraft completed its initial combat mission in 2022.
Boeing has delivered at least 14 KC-46As to the USAF in 2025 so far, regaining momentum affected by assembly line problems and a strike that shut down the Everett plant for several months last year.
