Virgin Australia will only receive its first E190-E2 in the last quarter, but has previewed what the interior of the new aircraft manufactured by Embraer will look like.
The new generation jet will be used on charter flights by the Australian airline and will feature a two-class layout.
“We have opted for a dual-class layout, which actually gives us three product options when you include our extra legroom option, Economy X,” said Nathan Miller, Executive General Manager of Virgin Australia.

The E190-E2 will be used on charter flights and will replace older Fokker 100s that have been retired.
While Virgin has not revealed the number of seats, images and video suggest the aircraft will seat eight passengers in business class and at least 88 in economy class.
Normally, the E190-E2 is configured with 112 seats in a single class.
Virgin Australia ordered eight aircraft from Embraer in August 2024, but has entered into a sale and leaseback transaction for four of them with Azorra.

The first E190-E2 is expected to enter service in October and Virgin expects to have four aircraft in the fleet by March 2026.
The aircraft will feature amenities such as high-bandwidth Wi-Fi connectivity and in-flight entertainment.
