WestJet announced on Monday that it will launch non-stop flights between Calgary and São Paulo, in Brazil, marking the airline’s 100th non-stop destination from Calgary.

The new service will also be the only direct link operated by WestJet between Western Canada and South America.

Flights between Calgary and São Paulo will operate three times per week starting in November 2026. In the Canada–Brazil direction, departures from Calgary are scheduled for 22:45, with arrival in São Paulo at 15:35 the following day.

In the opposite direction, flights will depart São Paulo at 19:40 and arrive in Calgary at 05:15 the following day, all times local.

Operations are scheduled to begin on November 8, 2026, in the Calgary–São Paulo direction and on November 9, 2026, in the São Paulo–Calgary direction.

The route will be operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft and remains subject to government approvals.

WestJet’s long-haul network remains relatively limited, with destinations including Hawaii, Tokyo, London and Paris. The airline currently operates seven Boeing 787 Dreamliners, although it has recently placed a large aircraft order with Boeing.

The service is supported by São Paulo’s role as a hub of the LATAM Airlines Group, WestJet’s partner in South America. Through the partnership, passengers will be able to connect to more than 30 destinations across the continent, including Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo, according to the airline.

“Our first flight between Western Canada and South America marks the beginning of a new chapter in WestJet’s Calgary story,” said Alexis von Hoensbroech, chief executive officer of the WestJet Group.
